Cold Weather - Campus Expectations
With the change in the weather patterns, we are approaching more cold and rainy days. This is a reminder of the Humble ISD / ARMS dress code expectations for our students.
Head coverings are not allowed inside the building or in classrooms
Blankets are not allowed and should not be seen inside the building. Blankets will be confiscated and held in the administrative offices.
School IDs are mandatory. Students must have their ID on a lanyard, around their neck, and in plain sight. Students may receive a temporary ID before school begins.
Students out of compliance with the expectations may receive the following disciplinary consequences: warning - detention - ISS
Students are not allowed to enter the building in the mornings until adult supervision arrives and must wait outside when dismissed at 4:00 p.m. Students are not allowed to wait inside the building for their rides to arrive. Dismissal is at 4:00 p.m. each day. Thank you!
Safety Expectations
SAFETY VIDEO:
BUS RIDERS
Bus riders must report directly to the bus ramp. Our buses will depart from the campus no later than 4:10 each day, unless there is a delay in the release time..
CAR RIDERS
If your child is a car rider, the only loading/drop off area is at the front entrance. For safety, we are asking that students do not load vehicles when cars are double stacked in the car rider loop. We want them to avoid crossing lanes of traffic. Ask your child to wait in the front until you pull around to a single lane.
Please be reminded to pull all the way up before your child exits or gets in your vehicle. Use the left lane to exit the car rider line. We have seen students and parents doing a great job of this! Thank you so much! This helps the line move faster and helps us keep our students safe!
Please remind your child to cross streets and driveways at crosswalks only.
With a double-stacked car rider lane, we ask all parents to be courteous, patient, and safe in the process of drop-offs/pick-ups. Do not block both lanes in this area and merge with a smile! We appreciate parents that wait patiently in this area! Let’s keep it safe for our students and our parents that are working to make this as smooth as possible. Thank you!
WALKERS/BIKERS
Walk in groups and stay together
Walk your bike across the intersection and when you get on campus
Stay on the sidewalks
No horseplaying or running
Avoid cell phone usage
Avoid wearing earbuds or headphones that prevent you from hearing
Look both ways when you cross the street
Follow traffic signals/pedestrian signals
Students that violate our expectations for safety will receive a warning, followed by a consequence of detention. Please remind your child of these expectations and watch the video with them. Thank you!
Illness Protocols - Please review!
Campuses and clinics are seeing an increase in the amount of flu, covid and strep cases. When your child is ill, please contact the school to let us know he or she won’t be attending that day. Please keep your child home if he/she is sick. It is important to remember that schools are required to exclude students with certain illnesses from school for periods of time as identified in state rules.
For example, if your child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she must stay out of school until fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications. In addition, students with diarrheal illnesses must stay home until they are diarrhea free without diarrhea-suppressing medications for at least 24 hours. Let’s keep our students safe and healthy by taking care of their illnesses and managing their symptoms until they are able to return to school. If you have any questions about conditions, you may contact our school nurse, Nurse Mallory.
