Cold Weather - Campus Expectations

We are seeing more colder and rainy days this month. This is a reminder of the Humble ISD / ARMS dress code expectations for our students and our rainy day procedures.

  • Head coverings are not allowed inside the building or in classrooms

  • Blankets are not allowed and should not be seen inside the building. Blankets will be confiscated and held in the administrative offices.

  • School IDs are mandatory. Students must have their ID on a lanyard, around their neck, and in plain sight. Students may receive a temporary ID for $1 before school begins = Fees assessed at the end of the year.

  • Students out of compliance with the expectations may receive the following disciplinary consequences: warning - parent contact - detention - ISS

  • During rainy day arrival/dismissal, please maintain our normal drop off procedures to ensure the safety of all students. Drop offs are not permitted in the front/back/side parking lots. Please stay in the front car rider loop line (double stacked).  Delays are expected on rainy days, so please plan accordingly to arrive early. We thank you for your patience and for unloading quickly/exiting to the left during the morning intake process. I love giving you “thumbs up” and “thank you” as you help move the line faster. You rock!!!

Students are not allowed to enter the building in the mornings until adult supervision arrives and must wait outside when dismissed at 4:00 p.m. Students are not allowed to wait inside the building for their rides to arrive. They must wait outside - Dismissal is at 4:00 p.m. each day.  Thank you!

Campus Behavior Expectations

We are extremely excited to open our PBIS store again this month to celebrate our Gators that are exhibiting appropriate behaviors each day! They will be given the opportunity to cash in on some amazing prizes during their lunch period. Announcements will be made this week for students to begin planning for their PBIS purchases.  Let’s celebrate the students that are doing a great job with behavior!

As we work with our Gators on doing things “The Gator Way”, please help us in reminding students to keep their hands/feet to themselves and to be respectful/kind in their interactions with each other.  Remind your child to not hit/push, run, or horseplay while at school.  We do not encourage nor do we allow students to hit or put their hands on each other. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, or negative interactions between students. As students are learning how to interact with each other in the middle school years, it is important that we are consistent at home and in school in sending the message that the expectations are to keep their hands to themselves and keep all communication respectful.  Encourage them to seek out a teacher, counselor, administrator, or any adult for any help/assistance that they need.  We appreciate your support in ensuring that they learn to navigate appropriate interactions during this transitional time.

Consequences for negative interactions include, but are not limited to: Restorative Practices, detention, in-school suspension (ISS), out of school suspension (OSS), or DAEP (alternative school).

LET’S MAKE THIS A GREAT WEEK IN “THE SWAMP”!!!
