For detailed information and flyers, please review the Gator Gazette each month!

The Gator Gazette, January 2024

SCOOTERS / BIKES

If your child rides a bike or scooter to school, all bikes/scooters will be required to remain secured and locked outside on the bike racks with a bike lock.  Many bikes and scooters are not secured with a lock to the bike racks. Locks are required when riding a bike or scooter to prevent theft.  Bikes/scooters are not allowed inside of the building.  For security purposes, please purchase a lock to keep your child’s bike/scooter secured to the bike rack.  If your child’s scooter is electric, it may not be recommended for outside storage.  Thank you for your understanding!

STUDENT GRADE-LEVEL MEETINGS

As we returned to school, our administrators are meeting with their grade level students to review expectations and to discuss how to make this a successful semester.  The presentations will be shared with you by Tuesday, January 9th. Please review the presentations for your child’s grade level.  Information may be different depending on the topics pertaining to your child’s grade level when it is sent. Thank you!

SAFETY REMINDERS

Student Arrival

  • Doors open at 7:50 a.m. for students to enter the building.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:50-8:20 a.m.

  • All car riders must be dropped off using the front entrance car rider loop.  Student drop off is not allowed using the back bus rider entrance.  Please follow the directional signage and traffic flow.

  • Upon entering the front entrance, all vehicles must take an immediate right to follow the car rider loop to drop your child off.

  • Do not drive through cones or restricted areas.

  • Be friendly and patient in lanes that merge to a single lane.

  • Drive slowly while on campus to ensure the safety of our staff and students.

  • Remind your child to “Stay on the Sidewalk” and “Use the red light crossing signal” each day!

  • Bikes and scooters must be walked while on campus and across all intersections. Students found riding their bikes or scooters while on campus are subject to consequences.  Safety is the priority!

Dismissal

  • Dismissal begins at 4:00 p.m. - ARMS is dismissed by floors, so students will be dismissed slowly to allow for an orderly dismissal from our hallways.

  • If your child is a car rider they must exit the front of the building.

  • To keep the car rider line moving, parents are asked to pull around or up to wait for their child.  This prevents the line from being blocked for parents that have already picked up their child and need to exit.

  • Remind your child to pay attention and look for you in the line when you pull around.
