PTA

Welcome

The BBE PTA presents this part of the website as an additional information source for parents about BBE and our PTA. It is our objective to provide an overview of PTA activities, provide basic information about the PTA, and expose parents to issues within our school system that impact us.

However, if you want to sign up for volunteer opportunities, view the BBE school directory, or shop at the BBE PTA store, you will need to register at the BBE PTA website:

Visit the Official Bbe PTA Website

Central to the success of our PTA's partnership with the school is the willingness of parents to get involved in the school and with the PTA. The information provided in this part of the website should give you an idea of the myriad of possibilities in volunteering. Please do not hesitate to contact anyone listed in these pages if you are interested in the topic for which they are responsible.

The General PTA meetings are held throughout the school year in the BBE cafeteria at 6:40 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

About the BBE PTA

The PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) is a non-profit, volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, and community members committed to enhancing the educational experience for all children.

The PTA is part of a local, state, and national organization. By joining the local Bear Branch Elementary PTA, you are automatically a member of the state and national associations. Together as a team, we become advocates for our children’s health, welfare, education, and safety.

Your PTA membership allows you the privilege to vote on critical PTA business such as adopting the year’s budget and bylaws and electing nominating committee members and future officers. It also gives our local PTA a vote on state and national issues.

Your PTA membership and generous donations make it possible for our school to offer these wonderful programs that benefit our children and our community as a whole. These programs also would not be possible without parents volunteering their time to organize, run, and support them.

Texas PTA's Honorary Life Member

The PTA's Honorary Texas Life Member is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon an individual by the Texas PTA for outstanding contributions to the well being of children and youth. The recipient of an honorary Life membership does not have to be a PTA member, nor must the service for which the honor has been bestowed be connected with the PTA. The only requirement for receiving this honor is that the recipient is making, or has made, a worthwhile contribution to the well being of children and youth.

If you would like to nominate a teacher, staff member, parent, or a member of our community to be considered for an Honorary Texas Life Member award, please print out and complete the following form and return it to the box labeled “LIFE MEMBER” in the front office by Friday, February 8, 2019.
