Humble ES Playground Open House

Humble ISD invites families to celebrate the new fiesta-themed playground at Humble Elementary.  Everyone is welcome to join a brief dedication ceremony at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, at Humble Elementary, 20252 Fieldtree Drive.

The event will feature performances from Humble Elementary’s folclórico group and student speakers. Comments will be made by Principal Veronica Hernandez.

This new playground is about fun and adventure while also celebrating Hispanic heritage. It is the 11th new playground in the district since the revitalization of the campus playgrounds began, and the first to be unveiled during the 2024-2025 school year.

The playground features cool tower structures with custom panels that resemble a stucco house with a terracotta roof. Students can enter the tower structure through a multi-layer belting and rope climber that provides a fun, physical challenge.

Once inside, children can explore different rooms filled with activities and cozy hangout spots. They can also glide down a 12-foot slide.

The playspace also features giant flower shades that provide protection and relief from the sun while children explore the variety of nets, climbers, and outdoor musical instruments throughout the space.

The seamless poured-in-place safety surfacing provides handicapped-accessible play for users of all abilities and features vibrant designs of rainforest animals, guitars, flowers and sugar skulls.

Activity panels, seek and find medallions, slides, spinners and swings are also found throughout the play area.

This Humble Elementary School playground was designed and installed by Lone Star Recreation of Texas. Elementary playgrounds at Humble ISD schools are open to the public when school is not in session.
