Humble ISD invites families to celebrate the unveiling of the new student fitness course at Humble Middle School. The community is welcome to attend a brief dedication ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 20, at Humble Middle School, located at 11207 Will Clayton Parkway.
The event will feature performances of “The Hey Song” and “Oye Como Va” from the Humble Middle School Band as well as speeches from student speakers. During the ceremony, Humble Middle School athletes will showcase the fitness course, and Principal Barron will share remarks.
The new course, inspired by the obstacle challenges seen on “American Ninja Warrior,” includes several custom-designed elements. These features include a rotating overhead traverse climber, a treetop traverse, a vertical rope wall, vertical sky wheels, a vertical wall climb with panels displaying the Humble Middle School Wildcat logo, and a time stop button at the top.
The course offers two different deck heights that provide students a variety of challenges and levels of difficulty. It is designed in the school’s colors–purple and white– and includes the Humble Middle School Wildcat in the poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing with paw prints at the start and finish lines.
The course was designed and installed by Cunningham Recreation and will be open to the public when school is not in session.
