The Humble Middle School Wildcats take on the obstacles of the new student fitness area!
On Friday, the new obstacle course and fitness area at Humble Middle School was unveiled to the students and public. The ceremony included comments from Principal Jerrell Barron, demonstrations of the fitness course by Humble Middle School athletes and musical performances by the band and mariachi.
Humble Middle School is the first Humble ISD campus to debut an updated obstacle course and fitness area during the 2024-2025 school year. This is the third new outdoor obstacle course and fitness area completed in Humble ISD.
Creekwood Middle School was the first campus to open an outdoor obstacle course and fitness area.
Other middle and high schools in Humble ISD will receive these enhancements by 2027 as part of Bond 2022.
More Information About Humble Middle School Fitness Course Equipment
The course was inspired by the obstacle challenges seen on “American Ninja Warrior”. It was designed by Cunningham Recreation with the Humble Middle School colors and mascot and includes several custom-designed elements with a variety of challenges and levels of difficulty.
From beginning to end, the obstacle course includes a rotating overhead traverse climber, vertical climbing poles, a vertical rope wall, a wall climb, vertical sky wheels, a swinging traverse, a treetop traverse and a time stop button at the top.
The poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing includes Wildcat paw prints at the start and finish lines.
