Humble ISD invites families to celebrate the grand opening of the new Under the Sea-themed playground at Deerwood Elementary. The community is welcome to attend a brief dedication ceremony at 5 p.m. on Monday, November 4, at Deerwood Elementary, 2920 Forest Garden Drive.
The event will feature a performance by the Dynamic Dolphin Deerwood Choir, led by Ms. Allard. There will also be speeches from students and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Remarks will be given by Deerwood Elementary’s PTA President and Principal Macaire McDonough-Davies.
Inspired by the vibrant and colorful world under the sea, Deerwood Elementary’s new playground features a variety of sea-themed attractions designed to ignite children’s imaginations while promoting active play.

This new playground at Deerwood Elementary is the 13th installed in the district since the revitalization of campus playgrounds began and the third unveiled during the 2024-2025 school year. The playground was designed and installed by KOMPAN Inc. Americas.
Elementary playgrounds in Humble ISD are open to the public when school is not in session.
