Community Update After Beryl

July 14, 2024

Dear Humble ISD Families,

Our community has supported each other through Beryl and its aftermath. We know families are in varying circumstances after the storm, and it is our goal to be flexible and supportive of staff and students. We understand it will take some time for everything to be back to normal and we are here to support your family in this recovery.

I want to provide an update to the community regarding the status of our schools and Humble ISD operations next week as it currently stands.

Schools and buildings will be closed to the public on Monday, July 15. Not all buildings have power and the internet and phones are unreliable at this time.

Some student classes and student activities will be occurring Monday, July 15. Coaches, sponsors and principals will reach out to you if your child’s activity can be held Monday.

Humble ISD is fortunate that our schools did not sustain major damages. Across the district, roof leaks, fallen trees, damaged fences and damaged signage were found. Thank you to our Maintenance Department for working throughout the heat of this past week to identify and address facility issues.

Our greatest challenge, like many of our homes, has been power restoration. As of 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14, here is the power status for our schools:
