All incoming 6th-8th grade CMS students are asked to read for 20 minutes every day in the summer. Additionally, students are required to read a minimum of ONE book of their choice from the book list. There will be a connected assignment that ties directly to the focus concept during the first grading period. As an optional enrichment activity, students can track their progress on the “1,000 Minutes of Reading” game board. There are several different rewards they can earn along the way, including a pizza party for those that reach the 1,000 minutes goal!
