Howdy! My name is Cara Rydell and this is my 24th year as librarian at Greentree.  I feel so blessed to have the BEST job in the building.  I love encouraging our Gators to be life-long readers.  Talking with students and trying to help them find the book that will develop the love of reading brings me great joy.

I graduated from Texas A&M in 1988 with my degree in Education and Curriculum.  I returned to school and received my Master's degree in Library Science in 2000 from Sam Houston State University.  I have been married to my husband Edwin for 35 years and have two wonderful sons who are both former Greentree Gators.

Media Center Hours and Procedures:

• The media center is open from 8:15 - 3:00 PM

• Kindergarten and First grade students are allowed to check out 1 book at a time and are asked to bring them back each week

• Students in grade 2-5 are allowed to check out 2 books at a time and may keep them for two weeks.

• If you lose or damage your book you will need to pay for the book using REVTRAC

The virtual library is available 24 hours a day.
