Lake Houston Middle School

Humble ISD will hold a Community Input Meeting on Monday, May 20, to discuss attendance zone for new Lake Houston Middle School

Humble ISD is building a new middle school due to student enrollment increases in the southern portion of the school district. Lake Houston Middle School is being built in the Lakewood Pines neighborhood near Centennial Elementary School. It will open in August 2025 as the 11th middle school in the school district. When a new school opens, an attendance area must be established to determine which residences will be zoned to the campus.

Humble ISD invites parents and the public to a Community Input Meeting regarding the establishment of an attendance zone for Lake Houston Middle School. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 20, in the Summer Creek High School Performing Arts Center, 14000 Weckford Blvd. The meeting will feature a presentation about the new school and potential attendance zones. After the presentation, district administrators will be stationed at tables in the cafeteria to answer questions about bus transportation, academics and activities, and potential attendance boundaries.

At the meeting, attendance zone options being considered by the School Attendance Area Committee will be presented. The new attendance zone could affect students who currently reside in attendance areas for Autumn Ridge Middle School, Humble Middle School, West Lake Middle School and Woodcreek Middle School. Maps and handouts are being developed and the options to be presented will be viewable on the Lake Houston Middle School website by noon on May 20.

Parents and the public are encouraged to email questions that they would like answered at the Community Input Meeting about the boundary options to public.communications@humbleisd.net. Questions also may be submitted in-person through comment cards to be distributed at the meeting. In late May, the district will email a survey about boundary options to the parents of elementary and middle school students in schools potentially affected by a new attendance zone. The School Board is anticipated to approve attendance zones for Lake Houston Middle School in August or in September.
