Student Wellness Counselors in Humble ISD are licensed professional counselors who help students achieve their educational, career, personal and social goals. They provide individual and group counseling, address personal and social issues, and collaborate with parents. Student wellness counselor work collaboratively with members of the educational team to promote and support students' academic and social/emotional well-being. Our role is to provide affective support to students and staff.
Supports Include:
Consultation
Prevention/Intervention Strategies
Crisis Intervention
Individual Counseling sessions to enhance social/emotional development of students
Provide 6-9 weeks of documented intervention services utilizing evidenced-based school counseling practices
Provide school staff and parents with community resources; coordinate and integrate school and community resources and events
Provide workshops, and trainings to schools, parents and the community
Serve on Crisis Response Team
We also utilize Community Engagement events to help raise awareness, provide tools and tips for improving Mental Health, introduce health resources and allow an opportunity to meet and greet with local Mental Health and Wellness providers to learn about available resources in the community.

Community Events are organized to help raise awareness, provide action items, decrease the stigma around mental health, provide tools and tips for improving mental health, introduce health resources on and near campuses, empower students, parents and community members to be proactive and confident in caring for themselves and others, and allow an opportunity to meet and greet with local mental health and wellness providers to learn about available resources in the community!
