The Kingwood High School Orchestra will aim to foster an environment where students feel safe to express themselves through words and music, be held accountable for their actions within and outside the classroom, use their musical talents to build relationships throughout the community, and meet expectations higher than the state standards. The directors will collaborate in a way that enhances co-directorship, creativity, and cohesiveness to best serve the students. Students and directors will act jointly to meet musical goals, stressing the importance of individual responsibility for collective excellence. Students will be encouraged to be involved and excel in all areas of interest; academics, athletics, clubs, and the arts; building skills in time management, organization, and leadership. Strong relationships with the middle school feeder programs and the utilization of community affiliations will be fostered to aid in the stable growth and success of the program. The directors will seek to instill, in all students, a life-long love of music that will continue past the walls of Kingwood High School.
