The attendance zone for the new Lake Houston Middle School was approved at the August 13, 2024, meeting of the Humble ISD Board of Trustees. Lake Houston Middle School is being built on Timber Forest Drive, near Centennial Elementary School, and opens in August 2025. Dawn Peter has been chosen as the school’s founding principal.
The attendance zone was developed based upon parents’ input through a survey, submitted comments, and the work of parents and residents who served on the Student Attendance Area Committee. The approved zone balances out enrollment among existing middle schools and incorporates comments received to keep students who attend the same elementary school together when they move into middle school, where possible.

Q. If my area was zoned to Lake Houston Middle School and I want my children to remain at their current middle school the next school year, can they?
Currently enrolled students will be allowed to remain at their current middle school through the completion of eighth grade if they choose to do so. These students will be considered transfer students, and their transfer request will be granted. This spring, an email will be sent to parents of students who are zoned to Lake Houston Middle School for 2025-2026 with information on how to make a request to remain at their current school.
The district will not split families. If a younger sibling enters school while a currently enrolled student is on a transfer to that school, the sibling’s transfer request will be granted so that all siblings can be at the same school together.
Transportation to and from school for all transfer students in Humble ISD is the parent’s responsibility.
