Happy October, Longhorns! For the remainder of the month of October, RMS invites you to participate in our October Cancer Hero Celebration! You can participate by creating an essay, slide, video or original piece of artwork and your will be invited to a special breakfast celebration- you can even bring a guest to honor as well.
If you don't know anyone personally that you'd like to showcase for this celebration, my library aides and I have created a list of heros who have had cancer or who are scientists and researchers leading the fight to find a cure for cancer that you can use to inspire your October Hero submission. Some of your teachers have even created their own heartfelt tributes to honor their heros on this slide deck as well.
