CREST Award Winners

A record-setting 12 Humble ISD campuses received the prestigious CREST (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas) Counseling Excellence Award for 2024 from the Texas School Counselor Association earlier in February.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, the lead counselors for those 12 campuses were honored along with their campus principals at the monthly Board of Trustees meeting.

Humble ISD Director of Personalized Counseling Tye Hobbs made the presentation and the following staff members were present:

Atascocita Springs Elementary: Veronica Acosta and Principal Cheryl Fennell
Elm Grove Elementary: Elain Dabney and Principal Cassie Pfeifer
Fall Creek Elementary: Amanda Baba and Principal Tannisha Oyeniyi
Groves Elementary: Andrea Jean and Principal Angela Bland
Humble Elementary: Sarah Robinson and Principal Veronica Hernandez
River Pines Elementary: Stephanie Zamora and Principal Rachel Dunn
Timbers Elementary: Cindy Jones and Assistant Principal Lori Paschall
Kingwood Middle School: Erin Gutierrez and Principal Michael Curl
Riverwood Middle School: Shayla Green and Assistant Principal Mandi Fontenot
Timberwood Middle School: Dalilah Nichols and Principal Ken Buck
Woodcreek Middle School: Mariana Reyna and Principal Alan Moye
Humble High School: Esteban Costante and Principal Dairus Cosby

A total of 32 Humble ISD counselors were responsible for winning the CREST Awards for 2024.

Along with the 12 campus counselors and principals being honored, Hobbs also recognized the work of Groves Elementary School Principal Angela Bland for being named the Texas School Counselor Association Roshine Fleming Award in the category of Campus Level Administrator of the Year. This distinguished award honors administrators who demonstrate outstanding leadership, advocacy, and support for comprehensive school counseling programs.
