Four Humble ISD football players named to Touchdown Club of Houston UIL High School Preseason All-Greater Houston Football Team

Humble ISD was well represented at the annual Touchdown Club of Houston Touchdowner of the Year dinner on August 16 at the Bayou City Event Center.  

The Touchdown Club of Houston uses this evening to honor its Touchdowner of Year, which was 1989 Heisman Trophy Award winner Andre Ware this year, and also announce its UIL High School Preseason All-Greater Houston Football Team,  on which Humble ISD had four selections. 

On offense, Summer Creek senior running back Lloyd Avant was named to the team after rushing for 1,710 yards and 32 scores a year ago. Avant is verbally committed to the University of Tulsa. Atascocita senior wide receiver Jelani Watkins was also named to the team on offense. Watkins is a four-star recruit, verbally committed to LSU. 

On defense, Atascocita senior cornerback Braylon Conley earned a spot on the team at defensive  back. Conley is a three-star rated prospect, verbally committed to USC. Also, Summer Creek senior linebacker Xavier Atkins earned a spot on the team. Atkins is a three-star prospect with 23 offers, including Texas A&M, LSU, Arkansas, TCU and UCF. 

A total of 36 players from around the Greater Houston area were honored during the dinner.
