Christy Erb, who began her career as an Humble ISD student teacher, will be the district’s Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools effective July 1. The Humble ISD School Board appointed Ms. Erb to the position at their May 23, 2023, meeting. She has served as Director of Elementary Education in Humble ISD for the past two school years.
Ms. Erb’s additional experience in Humble ISD includes being Fall Creek Elementary School Principal, a teacher at Timbers and Summerwood elementary schools, an instructional coach at Timbers Elementary, and a student teacher at Greentree Elementary and Humble Middle School.
In 2008, Timbers Elementary School selected her as Teacher of the Year and she went on to become the District Elementary Teacher of the Year.
She also served in Crosby ISD as Principal of Crosby Elementary and as Assistant Principal of Barrett Elementary.
The assistant superintendent position became open because Luci Schulz is relocating to North Texas to be near family. Ms. Schulz will be the Area Superintendent of the Ryan High School Zone in Denton ISD effective July 1.
“I am excited to step into this new position with a district that I hold dear to my heart,” Ms. Erb said. “Humble ISD is where I did my student teaching and started my career. The last two years, I have been able to work closely with Luci Schulz, which has been invaluable experience. I am ready to continue to empower our Humble ISD students and teachers to reach their highest potential in this new role.”
Ms. Erb earned her bachelor’s degree at Sam Houston State University and her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her family includes her husband, Iain, a son and a daughter.
