In the month of March, Destination Imagination Teams from across Texas competed to ultimately qualify for a spot in the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Kansas City.

Five Humble ISD Destination Imagination Teams – Greentree Elementary, Centennial Elementary, Oaks Elementary, Humble High School and Summer Creek High School – advanced from the North Harris DI Regional Tournament to the Lone Star Finals at the University of Texas at Arlington to compete for one of those spots.

Led by coach Nicole VanVleck, the Greentree Elementary team qualified for the Destination Imagination Global finals, which brings together top-performing teams from around the world to celebrate creativity and problem-solving on a global stage. The Greentree Elementary Destination Imagination Team was composed of Porter Bouquet, Hannah Dietz, Grace Little, Caleb Speegle, Weston Parker, Lyla Beasley, and Henry Busta.

The journey for Destination Imagination Teams begins in early March at Regional Tournaments. Humble ISD sent 19 teams to the 2025 North Harris Destination Imagination Regional Tournament. The event was hosted by Aldine ISD and included more than 100 teams from Humble, Aldine, Klein and Tomball ISDs.

Teams had to compete in open-ended, STEAM-focused challenges designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. All solutions were entirely student-driven, with no adult assistance allowed.

The best teams from the Regional Tournament advanced to the Lone Star Finals with the best among them earning a spot in the Destination Imagination Global Finals.
