Registration is required for 10th & 11th grade students who choose to participate.

In Humble ISD, we believe in creating as many opportunities as possible for our students to own their future and personalizing student success. That’s why we offer the PSAT/NMSQT® (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) to our students at no cost to students and families. Humble ISD will offer and pay for the PSAT/NMSQT to 10th and 11th grade students who choose to opt-in to take the exam.

Please complete the online registration form to opt-in by August 29, 2024 at midnight.

Whether your child is thinking about attending a two- or four-year college, is going straight into the workforce, or isn’t sure what they want to do after high school, the PSAT/NMSQT can help make their path clearer.  Results from the PSAT/NMSQT provide insights into your child’s academic strengths, along with areas they can work on while still in high school.

Taking the PSAT/NMSQT can also help your child to:

Enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program if they meet program requirements specified in the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide.
See where they are and set a target for where they want to be.
Practice and prepare for the SAT®.
Find out what AP® courses they’re ready to take.
Plan and pay for college.
Connect to their future career.

Students who opt in will take the PSAT/NMSQT on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 on each high school campus using a device provided to them that day.

Summer Creek High School will not provide calculators for student use on the PSAT/NMSQT. There is a calculator embedded in the online testing platfrom. Students may bring their own handheld calculator if they choose. Calculators cannot be shared among students. It is recommended that the College Board’s list of acceptable calculators is reviewed prior to test day to ensure allowable use. SCHS will only provide testing accommodations on the PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, SAT Subject Exams, and AP Exams if they are requested and approved through the College Board. To begin the approval process, the parent consent form must be submitted to the campus testing coordinator. All accommodation requests for the PSAT must be submitted to campus staff by August 29, 2024.
