As the year is coming to an end, our 8th graders have a lot of exciting events planned for them. This email will cover the dates and times of the events, as well as student expectations for the remainder of the year.
Student Expectations: Students must follow Humble ISD’s SCOC and adhere to West Lake’s campus policies and procedures. All fees must be paid in order for students to attend. Moving forward, any student who receives Out of School Suspension/In School Suspension is subject to being removed from some of these events. The decision will be at the discretion of the Administrator.
Picture Day May 1st at 9:00 AM: Please have students wear their West Lake Class of 2028 shirt for the photo. If they don’t have a class shirt, please wear any West Lake shirt or a navy blue shirt. The pictures will be available for purchase a few days after the photo is taken. Loudermouth will return to our campus and sell them to students directly. More information on photos to follow.
Field Day: On May 17th, students will have the opportunity to participate in our 8th grade field day event. The event will take place at the Insperity Complex and will run from 10 AM to 1 PM. Food trucks and dessert trucks will be on site for students to purchase from. Students who are not purchasing from the food trucks will be able to purchase from the cafeteria. Students may bring towels or blankets to sit on. ALL fees must be paid in order to participate. If you would like to chaperone this event, please email me directly at Denise.Smith@HumbleISD.net
8th Grade Dance: Students had a great time! Thank you to our wonderful PTO and all of our Parents volunteers for putting on such an amazing event.
Award Ceremony: May 22, 2024 from 6-7:30 PM. Parents and students will receive electronic invitations for this ceremony at a later date.
Staff vs. Student Showdown (volleyball game/3-point shoot off)- This is one of our most popular events! May 10th- Tickets for this fun filled event are $8 and are currently available in RevTrak. This event is for 7th and 8th graders, however, only 8th graders will be able to participate in the showdown. Our Coaches will choose the students who will be participating. This is an optional event, students are not required to attend.
Summer Creek High School Class Shirt: Attached is the link for students to purchase their official class shirt from SCHS. If your student is attending a different high school, those links will be shared as they come in.
