Kingwood Park NHS officers joined NHS officers from across Humble ISD to lead a district-wide leadership conference today at Humble HS. NHS members from all six high schools were invited to participate and gain leadership skills.
The Humble ISD Rodeo Art Show is not short on talent! If you couldn’t make it last night, another showing is TONIGHT, Jan. 29, at the Humble Civic Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Student Council held a food drive last week with a little of a twist. Students could donate non-perishable items in the name of teachers or principals. The staff members with the most donations were pied in the face at lunch on Tuesday.
NHS members and prospective members spent part of their Saturday serving various nonprofits. The NHS officers arranged stations around the cafeteria so students could work together on projects to fill needs throughout the community.
OnRamps Physics students created a food drive during their rotational motion unit. Before donating the canned food, the students used the cans to work through experiments in the unit.
Teaching to lead! With 41 years of teaching experience, teacher and coach Kim Ackerman was the keynote speaker at the NHS Leadership Workshop after school on Wednesday. More than 60 current and prospective NHS members showed up to participate in leadership rotations and listen to Ackerman's advice on becoming leaders.
Students in Advanced Biology worked with VR equipment during class last week. Students enjoyed the technology and activity.
Time to celebrate! The boys and girls swimming and diving team will celebrate Senior Night on Friday, Jan. 9, in the natatorium.
The boys basketball team is two games into district play now. They have home games on most Tuesday nights. Their next home game is Jan. 13 against Porter.
It's the giving season! National Honor Society senior Jude Richard volunteered at United Airlines this afternoon to work with United Airlines, Humble ISD Education Foundation and HAAM to provide non-perishable foods for more than 1,000 Humble ISD families.
The Kingwood Park Air Force JROTC had its annual inspection on Dec. 10. The students showcased their skills and performed drills.

With winter break so near, there have been some festive surprises. Even the Elf on the Shelf was spotted in various places on Wednesday.
Class officers helped decorate the commons with gingerbread men representing different groups and organizations in the school.

Kingwood Park counselors won the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) Award for their excellent counseling programs.
More than 450 students participated in the annual Day of Service. The served in various schools and other locations throughout the Greater Houston area.
The school was filled on 8th Grade Night this month as coaches and club sponsors recruited and pitched their programs to the 8th graders and their parents.
The Kingwood Park competitive cheer team received their state champion rings during the school's pep rally on Nov. 14.
