
A number of students and faculty members participated in the 10th annual 5K to support the L3 Foundation on Thanksgiving morning.





More than 500 students at Kingwood Park participated in Day of Service on Nov. 19. They were spread out around 17 locations and spent the day helping others.


Some sophomore English students presented their identity projects in classes last week. The projects centered around using symbolism to describe who they were.

HOSA held its blood drive last week. The club holds blood drives four times each year.

With clubs, organizations and athletic programs stationed at tables, there was a great turnout during eighth grade night on Monday. Student leaders answered questions, along with coaches and teachers.

The final pep rally on the day of a football game was held last Friday. The class competition was a battle of tug of war.

Girls basketball returns to action for a home game tonight. Varsity tips off at 7 p.m.

Join us this Saturday from 10 am to noon, for a Veterans community celebration on the AHS football field! Tour a Black Hawk helicopter and meet the crew. Grades 6-12 and all adults invited on the field for fun, combat fitness led by the AHS Marine Corps JROTC and Veteran Navy SEAL Congressman Dan Crenshaw. Work Out With a Vet, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, has been postponed due to the weather forecast of rain/thunderstorms.

The final home game for the girls volleyball team will be tonight. All of the seniors will be celebrated as the team takes on Splendora.


NHS officers held a leadership conference after school on Oct. 23. Students were able to listen to coach Eric Coovert talk about leadership before rotating through stations led by the officers.

Seniors Carson Brown and Elijah Merino qualified for the UIL 5A Cross Country State Championships. The two will compete on Nov. 2. This will be the third State appearance for both runners.


JROTC students volunteered as more than 1,000 pumpkins arrived for the community pumpkin patch at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church on Woodland Hills Drive.


The Thrift Market is taking place on Oct. 16-17 during Flex Hour. As a fundraiser, students can go shopping for donated clothing. Each item is only $1.
