Humble ISD is cancelling school due to the potential for hazardous roadway conditions. Humble ISD will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 21, and on Wednesday, January 22, due to the weather forecast. As a reminder, Humble ISD is CLOSED on Monday, January 20, for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Houston beginning at 6 p.m. Monday. “Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous,” the National Weather Service stated. “The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday morning commutes.”

AVID teachers, Mrs. Lloyd and Mr. Lacy, from Ross Sterling and Humble Middle came to discuss the AVID program with our Tree Frogs and how it can impact their future as students leading into adulthood.
The RPE Step Team completed their yearly Step Team Holiday Tour. Their first stop was to the Administration Building, where they got to show off what RPE is all about. They even taught one of their steps to the staff. Their next stops were at local assisted living facilities, where they continued to spread holiday cheer.
RPE's Spelling Bee Finalist: Isabella Sanchez is our champion, Jasline Hernandez is our runner-up, and Cameron Houston finished 3rd. Isabella Sanchez will be representing RPE in the district Spelling Bee in January. We are so proud of the work our Tree Frogs put into competing.
Star of Hope collected RPE's food donations today. 1st Grade wrapped up their Annual Food Drive, with 706 individual donations. We want to thank everyone that contributed to this cause, it is greatly appreciated.
The Academic: Winter Wheel Wonderland event was once again a huge success. Parents got the opportunity to participate in what their students are learning. They got the chance to see our Fine Arts Wheel in action, with performances from guitars, violins, choir, and band.

Another Polar Express Day in the books! As part of our RPE winter tradition, our Tree Frogs gathered around the tree while Mrs. Dunn read holiday stories and their teachers decorated the tree with the ornaments they made in class.
Burn Boot Camp and Kanga's Indoor Playcenter sent Tom's Coffee truck out to serve our staff after RPE was voted favorite Humble ISD Elementary School by our community. We appreciate you and everything you do!

We want to thank Ross Sterling and Humble Middle School for showing our 5th grade Tree Frogs what their schools have to offer them next year. Our students have a lot of choices to make going into next year.
Students got the chance to travel around the world without ever leaving the STEM Lab. The volcanoes were one of the most exciting stops, but they were constantly excited to get to their next destination.
Mrs. Collins' Pre-k students were getting letter practice during stations. They worked on letter idetification through matching, writing, and pairing letters together. These are the building blocks they need to support them as they become readers and writers.
Once again, the 2nd Grade's Annual Balloons Over RPE Parade was a huge success. The weather was nice enough we got to take the parade outside for parents to see.
